Magical Source, Mystic Force!

Bendis: We're gonna die.
Mal: We are not gonna die. You know why? Because we are so... very... pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die. Huh? Look at that chiseled jaw!

Mostly every morning I eat my breakfast while watching Power Ranger's Mystic Force. It's actually very much watchable, fun to watch, and a good way to start off your morning! If you count 11:30am still morning.

Life List #27

27. Better my Adobes Illustrator skills.

What better way to practice adobe illustrator than to draw the original cast of Stargate SG-1?

This took me awhile but I'm happy with the results! I love playing around with Illustrator and I want to get better at this! So I'll try to make something every week (hopefully!) :D

THE DOODLE:

For some reason, I started to watch Stargate....and it is AWESOME! I'm just on season 2 and the story lines are wonderful! I love how they tie in the mysteries of our own world to their show! Worm Holes, alternate universe, Thor and Ra were actually aliens from another world?, say what!?!?! Yup! It's all there!

Toodles and go watch it for yourselves! :D

Rainbows are visions but only illusions...

Yipppeeeeee! I finally got the pictures of my final sculpture project for my basic sculpture class back in the fall quarter. :D

THE FINAL PROJECT: I don't remember the exact assignment but it was something about doing an installation piece or a piece that works with the environment.

THE MATERIALS:
lots of neon colored papers.
sharpie.
printer.
tape.
hot glue gun.

THE PROCEDURE:
1. Find an icosahedron pattern online.
2. Print paper.
3. Use sharpie to make thick lines.
4. Scan and print copies.

5. Cut.
6. Fold.

7. Tape together.

8. Gather your coolest friends.
9. Massive Sweat Shop Time. Repeat Step 1-7 52 billion times!

10. Hot glue gun to wall.

THE CLOSEUP:

BITS AND PIECES of my report:
For this final project, I was inspired by the work of the site of the United Visual Artist called “Canopy,” which presented a 90 meter long sculpture submitted above ground. It was made of thousands of identical geometrical metal shapes that could reflect light and gave the viewers an experience of “walking through the dappled light of a forest.” I liked how having this massive amount of simple shapes could create this experience for the audience.

I liked the idea of making something out of objects that could easily be found at home and can be reproduced easily by others. I felt that by using color paper, it gave off this nostalgic feeling. The use of a variety of colors also adds to the playfulness of the work.

I wanted to have 3D objects coming out of the wall that takes viewers into another dimensions. I chose to have geometric shapes because these shapes reduce reality into simpliest forms. The purpose of this work was to take the viewers away from reality and into a simple and playful world.

ARG! :)

Thanks a bundle to Diane, Vivian, Carl, Natalie, and Virginia for all their help with the folding, cutting, and taping together these wonderful and colorful little things! :D

gee IM A TREE

Well ahoy there mates! :)

Happy belated New Years?

It's time for Groovin' Thursdays (but actually Groovin' early Sunday!)

An oldie but goodie! Most of the time I have no idea what they are saying, but doesn't the tune just brighten up your day?

Something I made in January...

I'm to the left and a Chau to the right.

This was my insert head cutout for our first ever Mr. CKI male beauty pageant! We watched our very own male members dance without shame, perform their own talent act, and answer very "tough" questions! All money went to charity (UNICEF and DSSLP). Guest could come and write whatever sayings they want in the black quote bubble thing (I'm not sure what to call it). The board also comes with an eraser and different colored chalks attached to the back.

Who wouldn't want six pack abs, a perfect body, and some itty bitty shiny gold shorts?

As the famous American General Douglas MacArthur said to the Filipinos during World War II, "I SHALL RETURN!"

(oh! thanks Tommy for the photo!)

Hidden Treasures!

Hello fellow undercover ninjas!

My notebook of drawings from last year is long gone! I looked high and low everywhere, but do not worry! Perseverance is always the key to SUCCESS and one day I will find it! (hopefully) But in the mean time I did find something cool while searching! Back in my 1st and 2nd year of college I use to volunteer for Think Together once a week at an elementary school and Fridays were called Fun Fridays! That's when I get to help theses youngsters with some fun activities like painting, "cooking", or playing board games with them.

These are some lovely artworks that two of my students painted for me. Aren't they so cool! :D

This one is by Sasha and she loves ice cream! If I remembered correctly, I think she was a 4th grader at the time.

And this one is by Aimee. She was a 3rd grader. (They called me Miss J)

I'm glad that I got to be part of this program. It was such a wonderful experience and I know I learned a lot that would help me later when I get into the teaching world! :D

Well, until next time... *wwwwwshhhhhhhhHHH pew pew BAM*

Alpha 5: Danger! Danger! It's the big one! I know it! We'll all be destroyed!
Zordon: Calm down, Alpha. It's Rita, and she's attacking the planet.
Alpha 5: Aye, yai, yai! What should we do?!
Zordon: Teleport to us five overbearing and over-emotional humans.
Alpha 5: No, not that! Not... teenagers!
Zordon: That is correct, Alpha.
Alpha 5: I was afraid of that.
